Psyche, Mobile Museen, 2004 |
'Psyche' is a room completely wrapped in fabric. The interior surfaces covered in carpets and curtains encompasses the visitor in an indistinguishable void, whose essence lies in the sensitivity to this inner atmosphere. Due to the soundproof quality of the textiles, music especially composed by Roedelius for 'Psyche', will introduce a new element to the space. The visitor will feel the space acoustically and with the light sculpture from Isamu Noguchi, see the structure and scope of the textiled interior. 'Psyche' provides the visitors with the possibility to retreat from the outside world and take time to reflect in this intriguing sanctuary.
This Mobile Museum was curated by Daniela Zyman from A9 forum transeuropa, our cooperation partner in Vienna .
Fabric Wall
MAK-Vienna
The exhibition space is devided in its length by a curtain that hangs in many folds from the ceiling. Its surface creates a new architectural dimension. Its structure, consisting of textile pieces, evokes a pattern of a huge picture.

Garden Pavillion
Galerie Menotti, Baden bei Wien, 2001
The concept was not only to build an outside space in the very traditional sense of a pavillion, but also to create a functional architectural object. A concrete disk floats above the ground, supported in its centre by a column. 6 steel poles with a ring on top form the space without walls. The textile circle, that serves as the ceiling transforms the open space below into an inside room.
