Caroline von Grone / Mobiles Museum Studio: "Ichs am Potsdamer Platz" Mobile Museum / Projects / CV Caroline von Grone paints observations. The exhibition is the process of painting presented as a situation. Von Grones public studio, grants the visitor the possibility to participate in the creation of the paintings. A relationship evolves between the painter and the model (often a volunteer from the general public), which due to the public arena is far more intense than in the usual closed studio enviroment. Not only can one observe the progress of a painting, but also be an observer in the making of a painting. In the first week, Caroline von Grone will occupy the MM Studio as her open studio. Draft for MM-Studio: "Ichs am Potsdamer Platz"
For one week in the MM-Studio/Preformance Museum, Caroline von Grone will temporarily open her studio to the public. With a glass pane, easel and painting utensils, she will mirror the surroundings and willing passers-by, through painting. Volunteers wishing to be temporary models can write to Mobile Museen in advance - please include a photograph. "ecce homo, Marienplatz", 9. Februar - 3. März 2001 The exhibition "Offensive Malerei", lothringer13/halle, München, takes place in the S-Bahnhof "Marienplatz" where an half nude model was painted. The temporary studio situation with model was a provocative 'construction site' on the busy train platform.
"Frankfurts Judas-kiss"("germanpaintingtwothousandthree") An Happening for the Vernissage "deutschemalereizweitausenddrei" at the Frankfurter Kunstverein. Caroline von Grone placed two half naked male models and a reflecting glass in the shop window of the Frankfurter Kunstverein. "Judaskuss" is the painting created from the glass reflection of the two models in the window. From the outside, one can only see the two models in the window, but from inside, one observes the whole picture - that of the models, their reflection and the act of painting itself. The outside situation is stationary, the inside situation is active. These two parrallel situations - one outside, one inside was produced as a film together with Martin Kreyssig and later shown at the end of the exhibition.
